Your next opportunity is rarely far away:

The question is - which conversation haven't you had yet?

Are you having the right conversations?

Most people don't miss opportunities because they aren't capable. They miss them because they don’t see them, or they don't quite know how to reach it.

Few of us are taught how to have meaningful conversations. How to ask the right question to open a door. How to hear what's being said underneath the surface.

That's exactly where I work.

I create spaces where next level conversations:

  • break silos,

  • build trust

  • unlock existing opportunities that you can’t quite see, hear, or feel yet.

I unlock the barriers that block these conversations. These barriers come in many forms.

Some are personal. Some are cultural. Many are shaped by how work, leadership and "networking" have traditionally been done.

When conversations stay surface-level, opportunities are harder to see. Confidence wavers. Impact feels out of reach. Not because you lack ideas or intent. Because the right conversation hasn't happened yet.

I understand this because I've lived it. I've spent years creating connection and belonging for others, and I've had to learn, sometimes the hard way, how much I need it too. That's not a footnote to this work. It's the reason for it.

Your Time Matters

Some of you know me through the business network Your Time Matters , I founded in 2013. Through that group, I helped thousands of professionals improve their conversations and unlock opportunities they were missing.

Building on that community approach, I now focus more on the conversations themselves.

Because every conversation has potential. The question is whether we notice it.

Kerryn Powell work with organisations, leadership teams, communities and curated groups to create experiences where people do more than attend — they engage, reflect, connect and leave with something that lasts.

‍ ‍The shift is to see what's already there differently and use your conversations as a bridge to “connect the dots” . And that changes what becomes possible.

What changes when the conversation changes?

  • Clarity replaces confusion: in your thinking, your direction, and the room you're in.

  • Confidence replaces hesitation: people who feel genuinely heard show up differently.

  • Trust replaces reticence: in relationships, in teams, and in the opportunities that follow.

  • Collaboration replaces isolation: whether across a table, in a team, or throughout a silo.

  • Thinking expands: because someone else's perspective shows you what you couldn't see from where you were standing.

  • Assumptions are challenged: and that's where the most important shifts begin.

Better conversations are the catalyst.

Not a nice extra. Not a soft skill. Conversations are the change mechanism for careers, teams, businesses, and communities.

If you sense there are opportunities you are missing, you’re probably right. The right conversation can be the catalyst to uncover the opportunities you have been looking for.

Questions people often ask

  • Yes — and you wouldn't be alone in feeling that way. From running events for my business community Your Time Matters, I have supported thousands of professionals to understand that networking is a life skill that everyone needs, not just a strategy to grow your business. Most people who find networking draining or awkward aren't doing anything wrong. They've just never connected the ability they already have . I work with them to be more aware and able to have conversations that feel natural and go somewhere meaningful. That's what shifts when we work together. You don't need to become a different person. You just need better tools, a bit of practice, and the right spaces to try them. If you want to improve your networking skills and build more meaningful professional relationships, the shift isn't in doing more — it's in having better conversations. I now offer mentoring , workshops and experiences where we focus on true connection and conversations that unlock opportunities as you become better at articulating your value.

  • I help professionals and organisations have conversations that go beyond the surface — the kind that build real trust, open unexpected doors, and create the clarity you need to move forward. That looks different depending on where you are: it might be a workshop, a facilitated event, 1:1 mentoring, or a speaking engagement. But the through-line is always the same: creating conversations and connections to create better outcomes.

  • It's deliberately different. This isn't about scripts, systems, or performing a version of yourself you don't recognise. My work starts from the belief that you already have more to offer than you think — the gap is usually in being able to see and reach the conversations that are already around you. We work on that together: with curiosity, not a formula.
