Hello, I’m Kerryn Powell.

I’m Kerryn Powell, the Network Catalyst and Founder of Your Time Matters business community.

One of the greatest life lessons I have learnt results from attending more than fifty funerals. At each funeral I have always listened intently to the eulogy.

Whether it has been the funeral of a five-year-old child whose parents’ hopes and dreams were crushed, or the celebration of life of my eighty-five-year old mother, ninety-five-year-old mother-in-law, or my stepfather and friends taken too early by cancer, or young adults taking their own life, or sons and daughters of friends killed in accidents … it is connection and relationships that leave an indelible mark, not the amount of dollars they made or the material things they accrued.

So how will you make your life matter?

What legacy would you like to leave?

For me, I believe that relationships are the key to our success. They are our means to learn, grow and achieve.

My passion lies in creating ripples to transform meaningful conversations and connections for into opportunities to change behaviour, find solutions and even influence change. I work with entrepreneurs, business leaders, and changemakers who can confidently create connection, and through their efforts achieve what matters to them and experience the growth and fulfillment, knowing that they have made a contribution to others. You have the opportunity to unlock your potential often through intentional, and sometimes, unintentional conversations .

When I connect the dots and look back, my superpower is founded on my ability to find a solution to almost anything , develop a resourceful approach and a desire to continually learn and apply new knowledge and forever supporting others to achieve their goals in life. Through a ripple effect we can contribute in someway to others and hopefully make a difference.

I am a catalyst, who identifies gaps, missing opportunities and can transforms conversations from “awkward” to “awesome” . No one achieves anything alone, so as a silo breaker , I encourage people to think outside of themselves and create true connection and build communities. I want you to feel supported, knowing support is always there, although on occasions you may not know how to find it.

My business networking community, Your Time Matters was founded back in 2013, as a pathway for men and women to be able to engage authentically with others on a similar journey and have access to the knowledge they need to build their own business.

While I know many find networking uncomfortable, I know that by stepping out of your comfort zone, there is nothing to lose and so much to gain .

The Value of curiosity

From an early age, I was curious about people and their stories, always eager to learn what drives them and how they navigate life’s challenges. This curiosity has shaped my resourceful approach to life—there’s always a way to solve a problem; you just need to know where to look.

In my work, and life, I act as a conduit to knowledge and connection, helping individuals pinpoint opportunities and transform their visions into reality. I have experienced that when you are open to explore and connect with the right people, you can unlock your potential, create impactful change, and drive growth in both your business and personal life.

My Vision: Beyond "What's in It for Me?"

I believe in a world where the focus shifts from "What’s in it for me?" to "How can we make a difference and influence change?" Through fostering supportive networks and cultivating purpose-driven relationships, we can all contribute to something greater.

The Loves of My Life

Family, people, and their stories are at the heart of everything I do. From childhood, I’ve been fascinated by the unique experiences of others and have dedicated my life to helping people connect, share, and achieve their goals. My diverse career has allowed me to interact with individuals from all walks of life, each with their own wisdom to share.

Influences and Lessons Learned

Growing up in a close-knit community, I learned the value of support and collaboration early on. My parents, who ran a small business, faced challenges that are all too familiar: financial struggles, poor communication, and the isolation that can come with entrepreneurship. These experiences taught me the importance of a strong network and the power of resilience.

After my parents’ divorce, I had to carve out a new path, facing feelings of loneliness and uncertainty. These emotions are common in both life and business, and they’ve fueled my desire to help others build the relationships and networks they need to thrive.

In 2013, I founded Your Time Matters, a business networking community designed to provide the support, knowledge, and connections essential for success. I’ve been fortunate to learn from every person I’ve met along the way, each one expanding my horizons and teaching me something new.

A Life of Connection

Networking isn’t just a business strategy; it’s a life skill. I’ve spent my life building communities—whether through running a craft market, working in education, or managing international relocations—and I’ve seen firsthand how critical a strong network is to overcoming challenges and achieving goals.

One of the most profound lessons I’ve learned comes from attending over 50 funerals. In those moments, I realized that it’s our connections and relationships that leave a lasting legacy, not the material wealth we accumulate. We have one life, one chance to make a meaningful impact. What legacy do you want to leave?

Creating a Ripple

My mission is to inspire others to build valuable relationships and strong networks, both internally and externally, to create communities that influence change. That’s why we launched the YTM Ripple Grant fund in August 2021, where 25% of YTM Business Community membership fees are directed to grassroots organizations making a positive impact.

Vision for the Future

Success in business and life requires more than just technical knowledge. It demands curiosity, resilience, support, and the willingness to step out of your comfort zone. By making every conversation count and connecting with diverse minds, you open yourself up to growth and fulfillment.

Business is essential for providing options and choices, but living with purpose and understanding your ability to make a positive impact is what truly drives growth and fulfillment. Let’s work together to build a world where connections matter and every conversation makes a difference.

As The Network Catalyst I want to help you transform the way you approach networking and understand it is a powerful tool, personally and professionally. I want to equip you to better connect, contribute and drive opportunities by reflecting on “ how can I make a difference”, rather than “what’s in it for me.

Creative and resourceful by nature

I use my creative skills developed over a lifetime to design unique tools, formats and learning experiences to encourage curiosity, expand perspectives, challenge thinking and work with people to have deeper, more purposeful conversations and make building valuable relationships fun, not a chore to be endured.

Whether online or in-person:

  • hosting, or facilitating a business event

  • leading an in-depth online workshop

  • mentoring one-on-one

  • or delivering a keynote speech …

… I work with people’s energy, enthusiasm and expertise to create a growth environment where people develop clarity, confidence and purpose.

Even if you think you know someone well, there are always more stories which deepen our understanding and connection.

My book & podcast, amplify stories of people and organisations who individually or collectively, contribute to community in their own way. I know conversations can energise, inspire and motivate us to move forward.

Kerryn has a passion for connecting people, and for enhancing meaningful business relationships.
