Kerryn Powell, the Network Catalyst and Founder of Your Time Matters speaks with David Turnbull, an employment facilitator connecting local people to local jobs through the federal government's Department of Employment and Workplace Relations' Local Jobs Plan.
David's role is to build capability and skill sets to build future careers and set businesses up for long term success. For David, every day is different. He can be engaging with employers, with industry, and with employment service providers from a federal and a state level as well. He also work with community organisations, because his role is about connecting people. He is not a recruiter. What he does , though, is hear that people in the community are looking for a particular job, but then hear from an employer that they're looking for people.
David says- "If I'm not making connections, I'm not giving people the ability to thrive. "
