Smart Brain Healthy Brain- influenced by loved ones
Kerryn speaks with Louise Hallinan, Founder of the Smart Brain Health Centre, International Award-winning Author and Natural Medicine Practitioner who is on a mission to see the statistics for dementia going down instead of up and to give people hope that there are things that they can do if someone in their family has been diagnosed with dementia.
Louise Hallinan's mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. She was shocked when the doctor at the time told her that it was hereditary and she had a good chance of getting it herself.
Over a 9 year period , Louise set off on a journey of researching everything there was about Alzheimer’s disease. She wrote her first book “Smart Brain Healthy Brain”: How to Improve Your Memory & Brain Health to share positive information from her studies and research. She found that there are many things that can be done to reduce your risk of getting Alzheimer’s disease / Dementia.
Everything in the book is fact and backed up by medical research studies. The book received a Silver Medal in the ‘Living Now’ Book Awards (USA) Health/Wellness.
Memory problems are one of the earliest symptoms of Dementia, and do not happen overnight. Awareness is the key to prevention.
